February 9, 2011
Wednesday, February 9 was our last day in Christchurch. I wondered around the city with Becca, Katie, and Diana. We went to the Christchurch cathedral and went on a tour. It was cool to see such an old Gothic style building and learn some interesting facts about it. We also walked to the fudge cottage and sampled some fudge and took some pictures by a countdown for world rugby cup. We then walked over to the botanical gardens, which are the best ones in New Zealand. The gardens were expansive and gorgeous. Katie, Becca, Diana, and I took a caterpillar ride through so we could see all of the gardens. They were the most beautiful gardens I have ever seen. I loved the hydrandras and roses. The colors were so bright and beautiful. After the gardens we got our bags and headed to the airport. It was so fun to be on a holiday in the South Island and a gorgeous worthwhile experience full of big adventures. I loved every minute of it. At the airport all 16 of us made up new names for each other. My girl name was Sarah and my boy name was Sam. The flight back to Auckland went by fast and it is so nice to be back.
